The three-star Bank Hotel's imposing facade occupies the prime location in Edinburgh city centre, situated on the Royal Mile and only in two minutes walk from Princes Street, so all the history and culture of Scotalnd's capital city is quite literally on your doorstep.
With such an excellent location, public transport is not necessary to reach the main tourist attractions. Waverley Train Station is only two minutes walk away, while the Edinburgh Airport can be accessed via the Airlink bus service.
Built in 1923 as a bank with appropriate grandeur, the building was extensively renovated with many original features restored in 1998 to create The Bank Hotel, and further refurbished in 2008. The oak-panelled walls of the reception area give way to the the original staircase leading up to distinctive bedrooms spread over three floors. There is no lift and so the property is unsuitable for the elderly or infirm.
