Hotel Sokos Vaakuna is conveniently situated right in the city centre within easy access to all sights, shopping malls and cosy cafes. The building of the hotel dates back to 1952 and is a good example of Finnish traditins in design. Not surprisingly the hotel is protected by the National Board of Antiquities.
However, being a monument itself the hotel offers its guests a list of various amenities and comforts you might require while away from home. It's comfortable rooms have everything necessary to have a rest while the hotel itself offers options for fruiteful work as well.
Rooms
Guests of the hotel are offered to stay in one of its 270 non-smoking rooms.
Standard rooms have sound-insulated windows and individual room cooling system. The basic comforts include: TV, minibar, hair dryer, iron and board. Wireless Internet access is available on the territory of the hotel.
Superior rooms are spacious enough to accommodate an extra bed. Some of the rooms of this type feature a balcony. Among extra comforts of the room are electric kettle, spring water, bathropes and a safe-deposit box.
Suites are two-bedroom rooms, some feature a sauna. Extra services include bathropes, electric kettle, safe-deposit box, stylish du luxe bathroom set. Some suite boast a spacious terrace balcony.
Family rooms are spacious rooms with a sofa bed (120cm wide)
Combi room is a double superior room with an extra bed. It might be combined with a standard single room with a wide double bed
There are also 2 rooms specially equipped for disabled guests.
Dining
Loiste restaurant is located at floor 10. It is a nice place for dining and relaxation, a cosy, bright spot above the hustle and bustle of the city. There is also a terrace available during warm months of the year where you can enjoy the beauty of the city and sun.
Conference & Meeting Rooms
The hotel has 6 well-equipped meeting rooms (for max. 60 participants), of which three are meeting rooms with a view, seating 15–20. The hotel also has 12 suites that can be used for meetings involving 4–6 people. All meeting facilities, the sauna department on the 10th floor and the suites feature an ADSL connection free of charge.
