Built in 1908, this Art Deco-style hotel is located in Flims, close to the crystal-clear Cauma lake. The hotel is set in a sunny wood glade protected from the wind. The rooms are decorated in Alpine style, and Thomas Mann and his wife Katja were once guests at Sunstar Hotel Flims. All drinks from the minibar are free of charge, and some rooms also include a balcony. The luxurious spa facilities include a swimming pool, a sauna and a steam bath. Guests can also relax on the terrace and children can play in the games room. The restaurant serves Swiss specialities, and the lobby bar offers live music in the evenings. Free parking is available in front of the hotel.

Located 1150 metres above sea level Flims is a well-known health resort because of its sunny and mild climate. Overlooking the Vorderrhein valley it is a natural sun terrace. Connected with Laax and Falera, Flims forms the biggest ski and hiking area of the Grisons Alps, known locally as the "Alpenarena". When arriving by train you travel first to Chur or Ilanz, then continue by bus. By car you can drive via Chur or over the Oberalppass.
