The Quarter Latin in Paris is a district in the 5th and partly in the 6th arrondissement of Paris on the left bank of Seine, several blocks away from the Sorbonne University. The name of the area comes from the Latin language. In the Middle Ages it was used as a language of science, as a result a lot of students used it not only in the university, but also around it.
