Places Around Musee d’Orsay
The Musee d’Orsay is a museum in Paris situated on the left bank of the River Seine. The building of the museum is a former railway station called Gare d’Orsay, and re-built to house a museum following a decision of the French Government in 1977. The reconstruction included a creation of new floorspace on four floors. All works were completed by 1986, and the new museum finally opened its doors to public.
Here you can see a rich collection of French art from 1848 to 1915, numerous paintings, sculptures, furniture and photography. The most famous pieces you will find here are works of Monet, Degas, van Gogh, Rude, Cavelier, Rodin Gauguin and many other artists and sculptors of different times.
